rofessor Topete!
The Asheville Capoeira group thanks Professor Topete for the time he spent with us this Fall! Our studio was able to offer the North Carolina community the opportunity to train with an experienced teacher of traditional capoeira angola. A native of Campinas Brazil, Topete was graduated as Professor da Capoeira Angola by Mestre Pe de Chumbo. Along with his students in Brazil and Mestre Bahia, Professor Topete recently released a CD of capoeira music called, Angola Capoeira Mae. He has given workshops and lead capoeira groups in countries as far reaching as Mexico and Sweden. During his first ever visit to the United States, Professor Topete offered weekly classes at the Asheville capoeira studio. He has been studying and teaching capoeira for most of his life and shared his knowlegable insights on the movements, music, and culture of capoeira angola. Thank You Professor Topete!
